Phantom is a real product. So is Talius.
Phantom Screens is a legitimate, well-respected brand. They are the global category leader for a reason. Big product line, deep dealer network, decades of installs.
We’re not here to bash them. We’re here to give you the honest read on when Phantom is the right call and when a Talius install through myscreens.ca fits better. We install Talius. We know it cold. We also know where Phantom has products we don’t, and we’ll point you there if that’s the better fit.
The screen experts who answer. That includes telling you when we’re not the right shop.

Pick Phantom when these things are true.
We’ll be the first to tell you. There are real cases where Phantom is the better answer for an Ontario buyer.
- Your closest dealer is a Phantom dealer and you want a local relationship.
- You want a lifetime limited warranty specifically, and you've read the fine print.
- You need a retractable swing-door screen (Phantom Executive). Talius does not build that.
- You're outside our Ontario service area and Phantom has the closer install team.
Pick Talius (through us) when these things are true.
Where our setup tends to win on the ground in Ontario.
- You're in Southern Ontario and want an installer who answers the phone year-round.
- You want the 100 mph zip-lock wind rating on a solar shade for an exposed patio.
- You need RAL custom frame matching to the trim or fascia of the house.
- You want a 3 to 4 week timeline from consult to install with one point of contact.
Rule of thumb
If you live in Ontario and the install is on a covered patio under 16 feet, get quotes from both. The product is roughly comparable. The service is what distinguishes them.
Two quotes, two conversations, one decision. We don’t mind if you compare. That’s how a good buy gets made.
From first call to final install.
Three steps. No surprises. Most installs ship within 3–4 weeks of the consult.

Consult & measure
An installer visits your patio, takes measurements, walks you through mesh and motor options. No-pressure, no charge.
Install
Custom build at our shop, then a half-day install on your patio. You're using it the same evening.
Honest limits on both products.
A retractable screen is a screen, not a wall. Both Talius and Phantom have the same physics behind them. Worth saying out loud before you buy either:
- Neither system insulates the patio. They’re three-season tools, not winter rooms.
- Solar mesh blocks heat, not all heat. A west-facing patio at 4 PM still warms up, just less.
- Insect mesh keeps mosquitoes out, but a screen door left open still lets bugs in.
- Both products want a covered or partly framed opening to install cleanly. A fully open backyard needs framing first.
